Today's verse is James 1:12
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
From the context, to be tempted is not a trial, nor is it tribulation. But it is a temptation to depart from the way of God, from the righteousness which we have learned from his Word. Let us look, therefore, at the things given to us, that we may endure and overcome. First, we are to consider the reward set before us, for even as Christ endured the Cross, keeping his eyes upon the joy set before him, so too are we to look to the prize God has set before us. Then, knowing that God has given us all things, and all things are Good in their proper place, to put aside the current desire and to be patient, remembering the Word of God, and to submit to it, and its direction. So shall we find Liberty, and a place before the Righteous God. Amen.
To God be the Glory
