Examining Ourselves

Today's verse is Hebrews 3:6
But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

In reading the verse above, we must remember the Parable of the Sower, and know the grounds upon which the seed fell: The wayside, the stony ground, the tares (weeds) and the prepared ground. It is obvious that those that fell on the wayside never truly understood the wondrous Gospel, but those that fell upon the prepared ground were truly redeemed, while the seed that fell upon the tares, where caught up with the things of this world, still shew evidence of belief, while missing the greater blessings offered by the God who is Love. But the seed that fell upon the stony ground heard, but having no root in themselves, did not truly believe, and therefore having no faith (without faith it is impossible to please God) they only gave an appearance of receiving that precious gift. So, let us examine ourselves, do we truly believe the promises that God has given us? Not only of redemption, but to supply our every need, and those desires he has developed in us. Selah [Know what you are truly trusting!] Amen.
