How We Live, Affects Others

Today's verse is 1 Thessalonians 3:8
For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.

Are you a follower of Jesus Christ? Do you know, and are you known of the Father? Then even as Paul said, For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. Or as the counsel of the world has put it, “No man is an Island, Jack!” Those about us see us, and they watch us, to see how we do. If we be faithful, our brothers and sisters in Christ will be encouraged, but if we stumble, they are disheartened. But not only they, but those of the world take note as well, and have similar reactions. Therefore, let us allow our Saviour to shine forth from us, and if we stumble, to quickly repent, confessing our sin to him, and he will, as promised, cleanse us from all unrighteousness, that those that see, may also rejoice in the Lord our God, and live. Amen.

Not Seeking Fame

Today's verse is 1 Thessalonians 2:6
Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.

Even as all about you seek to have their 15 minutes of fame, to be known of men, we, that is those that know Jesus Christ, ought not to seek these things, for what is of greater value than to know, yea to be known of God the Father, and his Son Jesus Christ, is this not a key evidence that our name is written in the Lamb’s book of Life, and is that not what we ought to be glorying in? Therefore, even as we have the promise of God that he will sustain us by our own labours, we ought to proclaim the Gospel freely to all that are around us, specially to those that will hear. Amen.

Pray With Watchful Patience

Today's verse is 1 Kings 18:44
And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.

At the beginning of this narrative, Elijah is told to shew himself to Ahab, that it may rain. Now, take note of the two prayers that Elijah prayed. The first was very straightforward and short, and even though Elijah did everything he could to make the request impossible, it was answered quickly, leaving no doubt. Yet, this second prayer, the answer was not immediate, but Elijah persisted until he was given evidence, however small, that his request had been heard, even though as we were told at the beginning, that this result was the very purpose for which he faced Ahab. Therefore, be patient when you pray, but pray till you see the beginning of God’s answer. Amen.

With Diligence Perform Your Ministry

Today's verse is Colossians 4:17
And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.

Let us also take heed, of the command Paul gave to Archippus, for the same God that has given a charge to Archippus, has also so given one to you and I. You may say, but I don’t know what it is. While there may be some truth to that, have we not all with the disciples been commanded, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature[?] And fear not, for even the Apostle Paul, requested prayer more than once that he too might be given boldness, and the knowledge of what to speak, that the mystery of the Gospel might be heard by all people. And as God had answered Paul’s request, so will he answer yours. But be ye Diligent to preform it. Amen.

The Importance Of A Changed Life

Today's verse is Colossians 3:7
In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

I speak to the Redeemed! notice the tense of the verbs in this passage, is it not in the past tense? We that have received Jesus Christ know that the time of God’s Wrath will come upon all men, of which Hell, rather the lake of fire, is but a part. However, we know, for we have been told, that God has reserved a time, when he will pour out his Wrath upon the Earth, and it is our Changed life that is to be a testimony unto them, that God is to be feared, because he forgives. They ask, “Can a man change?” Many concluding that it is impossible to do so. Yet, we know that if we have not been Changed, our Salvation is not true; Therefore, with all that is in you (have you not the Spirit of God dwelling in you?) with all diligence, mortify therefore your members, and allow that New Man to shine forth, that those about you may know that they too can be Redeemed and Changed to escape the Wrath of God that is to come. Amen.

Being Vigilant Against The Lies

Today's verse is Colossians 2:8
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Sound Doctrine! We must always be searching the Scriptures, seeking out what is true, and what is false. Consider the testimony of those from Berea; They were more noble that those in Thessalonica, in that they recieved the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. There are many voices in the world, and many, even most are seeking to deceive you in all things, seeking to lead you astray from the true and living way, found only in Jesus Christ. Therefore, we must be as those from Berea, and test everything that we hear by the truth found in God’s Word, that we might continue in the Sound Doctrines found only in the Word of God. Amen.

Being Filled With The Knowledge Of His Will

Today's verse is Colossians 1:9
For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

Paul’s prayer for the Colossians, Yea, even for us, is that we know what God wants of, and for us, even how we might serve, and Glorify Him. In the past, during the times that I thought I did not know what God’s will for me was, when I finally discovered it, I found that I had known it all along, I had just not been willing to accept it. Therefore, we that have been made partakers of the Blood of the Lamb, must diligently seek to fill ourselves with the Word of God, constantly surrendering ourselves to His Spirit, and so shall we then be able to understand what the will of the Lord is for us, that we then might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God[.] Amen.

Give To God His Due

Today's verse is Psalm 96:8
Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name:
Bring an offering, and come into his courts.

Make this choice now, and determine that you shall never change it, That God is, and that just on the fact that He Created you, he is worthy of all he demands of you, He is worthy of all that you have, or ever will have! Yet, above all this, He has given you His Son, and by Him He has Redeemed you unto himself, that all that will receive it, will have a place before him, so by His Spirit, bring Him an Offering worthy of His Name, and come to dwell in His courts. Amen.

How To Remain In The Presence Of God

Today's verse is Philippians 3:1
Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe.

Today, as I was reading my Bible, I was reflection on how, when a man sees, or meets, God, He has a propensity to run from him. And as I read this verse, we find the answer. Whenever we truly encounter God, whether we realize it or not, we see him in His Terrible Righteousness, and in our Fear (the unhealthy kind) we can only seek to flee or fall as dead. But God, in His Mercy toward us, and his Love for us, has given us the answer to this dilemma, for we are to constantly Rejoice in the Lord, that is Rejoice in Jesus Christ, and see God through the Cross of Jesus Christ, even as He sees us through his Son who died upon that Cross, suffering the penalty for sin for us, Rising up the Third day, that we might be found Righteous in him by the Faith [Trust] we have in him. Amen.

Our Sure Foundation: The Word Of God

Today's verse is Psalm 93:5
     Thy testimonies are very sure:
      Holiness becometh thine house,
      O LORD, for ever.

Of this we can be very sure, the Word of God, the Law of the Lord, The Statutes of God, yea, his Testimonies are without question, and their reliability can not be overstated, but are often understated or diminished in our eyes. Let this not be said of you! For we have a God that cannot lie, and we have been told that not a jot or tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. And as we magnify, and seek to understand God’s Word, then obey it with all our might by the power of the Spirit that dwells within us, we shall find that we are likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind, with those that are doing the same. Amen.

For What Do You Live?

Today's verse is Philippians 1:21
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

According to this verse, the question really is clear, what is the focus of your life? What is it that you count as gain? What would you count as a loss? By the law, anything that hinders your relationship with the Most High God, whether it be Mother, or Father, or Loved one, a Sister, or Brother, or Wife, or Child, a Son or Daughter, would and should be considered a loss. Many have so fallen to the wayside for such, even as Adam did. But others are charmed by the lure of Gold and Silver, enamored by the riches they represent, and then others, by the allure of the acclaim of others, and in the gain of any of these things, they lose it all. However, we have a option, for there is a Treasure beyond measure in Jesus Christ, and if we place our Trust, and Hope, and Purpose in him, we may or may not have all of the other things, for our Treasure will be stored in Heaven with Christ, therefore our Lives will be full, and our rewards and Fellowship in Christ will be complete. Amen.

Even In Affliction, God Is Able To Make One Glad

Today's verse is Psalm 90:15
Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us,
And the years wherein we have seen evil.

Here is a Mystery, God is able to take those things that we count worst, and cause them to be a reason to rejoice. Consider Jacob, that is now called Israel, one day he lost his son, Joseph, and had thought he had died. But because Joseph was as dead to him, Joseph was able to prepare a place for him, even a place of plenty when the famine was at its worst. And when the time was right, he was once again brought before his living son, who provided him and his family the provision needed for the time of famine. So also will our God do for us, if we wait on him, and Trust in him, and acknowledge him in all our ways. Amen.

How Will You Know The Lord God?

Today's verse is Ezekiel 38:23
Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.

A decision is upon you (for by God’s Grace, I have already made mine) for what is known as the age of grace is coming to an end, even the age of the Church, and with it the longsuffering of God will be at an end. So, will you choose to Recognize that the Most High God is the Lord now, or will you continue to despise the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? For up to now God has, in his Grace, restrained his wrath, even his Terrible nature, only giving us a glimpse of it from time to time, that we not forget, and none will be able to say, “God cannot be both all Good, and all Powerful (or all knowing)” For God will make known his Power for all to see, and his goodness, though still present will be harder to see, But none will be able to deny that the Lord, he is THE God! Selah [How will you know That God is the Lord?] Amen.

Differentiating Ourselves From The World

Today's verse is Ephesians 4:20
But ye have not so learned Christ;

So much is said in this verse! Consider how Paul described in Galatians the works of the flesh, as compared to the works of the Spirit of God in us. Our Saviour has not taught us to be selfish, how we can gain by the plight of our neighbour (whether good or bad.) But, what have we learned of and from our Saviour? Love, Joy, Peace, our hope is staid upon him, Longsuffering, Gentleness, Goodness, the attributes by which we treat our neighbours, Faith, Meekness, and Temperance, keeping ourselves under control that those about us may see our Saviour in us. Amen.

Reacting To Seeing God's Word Fulfilled

Today's verse is Ezekiel 36:11
And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

We have discovered that the ultimate proof that God is, and that the God of the Bible is the Most High God is that he knows the end from the beginning, and has told us many of these things in his Word. The context of this verse is one example of this, for we can see what it is speaking of even now, for Now are we in the midst of seeing the events of this passage come to pass. Let us, therefore, take this both as a warning, to cause in us to Fear the Lord God, but not only that, but reason to Hope. FEAR: For those that oppose God, even oppose that which God is doing to, and for, Israel his people will be put to shame, but not only that, will be destroyed in the end. No One ought to seek to be found in their number. HOPE: As we see God’s Word filled before our eyes,we know that what he had also promised us, will also come to pass; therefore, let us Watch and be ready for that Blessed Hope, when he shall receive us unto himself, even as he has Promised. Amen.

Unrestrained Access

Today's verse is Ephesians 2:18
For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

Do you understand the Gift we have been given by Jesus Christ? Whether Jew or Greek (Gentile, any that are not of the seed of Israel,) we all now have the same access to the Father, even by the blood of the Lamb, and the ministry of his Spirit in our lives. For by confessing the Lord Jesus Christ, and believing in our hearts that he has truly risen from the Dead, our sins have been washed away. Then, until the redemption of our flesh be fulfilled, the Spirit of God dwells in us, empowering us to walk in him, to be found righteous even now in this present world, giving witness to all that God is the Lord. Amen.

Chosen Of God!

Today's verse is Ephesians 1:4
According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

Before ever God first formed the heaven and the earth, he looked upon all that would happen, even as he saw Adam’s Transgression, and Cain murdering his brother Abel, and the need to destroy the world in the Flood, even as he knew the need to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, even as he saw all those things that the Atheist complains about, he also saw you, and saw what you could be, once you have been washed in the Blood of the Lamb, his Son, made worthy of fellowship with him, and said, if that one comes to me and made whole, all of it would be worth it. He has chosen you; will you choose him Today? Amen.

Being Patient In The Day Of Trouble

Today's verse is Galatians 6:9
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Here is the question, Do you fear God? Today, we walk in a land that the unrighteous, those that mock God appear to have dominion. But God is not to be mocked, for we all shall reap what we sow. They now sow to the flesh, and they shall reap of the flesh, corruption, but we, if we instead sow of the Spirit of God, we shall reap life everlasting. Both Jeremiah and Ezekiel warned Judah, but the people of the land having heard God’s Word, refused to hear, and those that were not exiled, were destroyed. As then, so it is now, the judgment of God is coming, so let us not be weary in well doing, and as we do, let us also speak, that those that hear may have the opportunity to repent, that they too may sow to the Spirit, rather than to the flesh. Amen.

Learning To Love

Today's verse is Galatians 5:14
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Here is something that is needful to understand, while it may be possible to appear to keep the law without truly loving, it is impossible to truly love, and not keep the spirit of the law. As Paul has shown earlier, the law of God is a schoolmaster, giving us a glimpse of what it is to Love, but to truly love, we must know God, who is Love. For only by knowing God, can we learn to distinguish want, or lust, from love, and our greatest example of this Love is even the Cross upon which our God, even Jesus Christ died, that we, though now imperfect, might be made perfect in him to his Honor and Glory. Amen.

Will You Affect, Or Be Affected?

Today's verse is Galatians 4:17
They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them.

Who do you allow to affect you? Who do you allow to help you determine what is right and what is wrong? Today, there is this thing called the “Cancel Culture,” as we can see from this passage, it is not a new thing, but an old one, made much larger. So, which will you fear? Will you fear them that know not God, who are afraid to know God, not without cause, but we know to be foolish. Or, will you remain faithful to the one that Saved you out of the same thing that they fear? Will you allow your God to affect them through you, even though they resist it? Will you Trust your God to care for your needs even as he has promised? But seek ye the kingdom of God, and his righteousness: and all these things shall be added unto you. Will you approve yourself the minister of God with much patience, even in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses . . . even as Jesus Christ suffered for your sake, as you Watch for his appearing, when he comes to take you to that place he has prepared for you. Selah [Choose carefully who will affect you.] Amen.
