How We Are To Fight!

Today's verse is 2 Corinthians 10:3
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

   What is our purpose? What is the reason that our Lord God has left us to dwell yet on Earth? Is it not that we might tell others what he has done for us? And what has he done for us? Is it not that he has forgiven us by his Death upon the Cross, proving that he has power over sin by his Resurrection? Therefore we are not to force others to come to Christ; it is not even our job to persuade them, it is only our job to show them our Savior, and He is the one that does the convincing. So be not ashamed of you Savior, but proclaim him, and those that are willing to listen will find that they too may be forgiven. Amen.

God's Sufficiency

Today's verse is 2 Corinthians 9:8
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

    Are you finding yourself lacking? I know I have too many times, but at others I have found God sufficient as he has said here. If you notice it says here that God is able, not that God will, and we find that a condition is set a couple of verses earlier. As we sow, so shall we reap. So do you trust God? Have you seen in Scripture how he has cared for his own? Seeing this have you seen him work before on your behalf? As he has done before, so can you expect him to do again. Trust him, give as he has given to you, and you will find that as you do this, this verse will be fulfilled in your life. Amen.

God Prepares The Way

Today's verse is Joshua 2:9
And she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.

   We can see here, that when God gives a command to act, that he has already gone before and prepared the way, so that we need not fear to act upon the command he has given us. Remember who your God is, as he did yesterday for Israel, you can trust he will do for you today, if you will follow him. As he did yesterday for you, you can be confident that he will do for you today, if you continue to follow him. Often the way before us, we are prone to see the dangers and troubles, but instead of seeing them, see the God that promised, and know that your God that promised, will keep those promises, as he had said. Amen.

A Present Help In Trouble

Today's verse is Psalm 46:1
     God is our refuge and strength,
      A very present help in trouble.

  If God is my refuge, and if God is a present help in trouble, Why does this happen, or why did that happen? I don’t know, but after being in God’s family now for over 36 years, I have been subjected to this, and I have suffered that, yet looking back I do see that my God has been a present help in trouble, He has been my refuge, and he most defiantly has been my strength. When in the trouble, look not at the trouble, but look to your God, examining yourself, when necessary repenting, letting your requests be known to him, and above all Trust in him even above your understanding and you will see once you are on the other side, that he has carried you through. Selah [Think on this.] Amen.

Making The Greatness Of God Known

Today's verse is 2 Corinthians 8:9
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet sfor your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

    As I read, “Because I will publish the name of the Lord:/ Ascribe ye greatness unto our God.” I forgot, and I wondered how I should do such a thing? Then I read the above verse and I was reminded of what Jesus did for me, and not me only, but for all that would receive it. Jesus Christ came not into the Earth to be an example of how to live for God (though he was,) He did not come to teach us God’s ways (He did.) He came that he might provide a way for sinners to approach a Righteous God. He came so that he might draw sinners from their sin, to lift them out of the mire they enjoy, that they might learn true Joy, as we learn of the riches that can only come from him. This is what he did for us, when he allowed us to kill him by the Cross. Then he rose again, giving redemption to all that will accept this as the payment for their sin. Amen.

Where To Find The Meaning Of Life

Today's verse is Deuteronomy 30:14
But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

   Some time ago on a T.V. show, I saw one of the main characters lament for the destruction of a library found on another planet, for it may have contained the meaning of life. Others hope for Aliens to come and fix us, for we are prone to destroy ourselves. If you are still searching you can stop, for we have the Book that gives us The Meaning of Life, right here in the pages of the Holy Bible. In it we also have the promise of the return of the Son of God, who will reward those that have Trusted in Him. Who also will utterly destroy in endless death all those that have rejected him. So consider, and examine yourself, of which are you? Selah [Think on This.] Amen.

The Right Kind Of Sorrow

Today's verse is 2 Corinthians 7:10
For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

   It is without a doubt that we all have occasion to be sad; for it is of a truth that “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” And while sin may be joyful for a season, it will always bring sorrow and destruction later, for, “We reap what we sow.” To some this sorrow is without hope, because they do not know the grace of God, and have good cause to fear his Wrath. However, God is gracious, and he is willing that none should perish, but that all should repent, and if we come to him confessing our sins, he will cleanse us from all unrighteousness. So have you sinned? Be sorry, but come to the God that loves you, and will, if you confess your sin, receive you with open arms, lifting you up out of the mire, and setting you on a firm path. Amen.

Overcome By Blessings

Today's verse is Deuteronomy 28:2
And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

   This chapter, while possibly applying to an individual, is speaking of the blessings, or the curses that a nation, in particular, Israel can receive based upon its relationship to the Most High God. However, let us look at the above verse. I want to focus on that word overtake. If we each repent, and hearken not to our neighbor, but unto the God in Heaven, receiving from him his forgiveness, encouraging our neighbor to do likewise, then all the destruction that we see about us, will we not only avoid, but the floodgates will not be able to hold back the blessings which God will give us. So what will you do? Curse God for punishing us for our Sins? Or will you accept his forgiveness through Jesus Christ, following him and his ways? The choice is yours. Selah [Think on this.] Amen.

A Reflection

Today's verse is Psalm 40:17
     But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me:
      Thou art my help and my deliverer;
      Make no tarrying, O my God.

   I look upon my situation and find I have nothing to offer the God of Heaven. Sometimes, I do find something that I can offer him, but find that it is something that I received from him. Yet for some reason, I find that the God that created Heaven and Earth, and all that are in them, considers me, and not only that, but loves me, and has provided for me; First, and foremost a way through Jesus Christ to come to him, which in and of itself would be so much more than I could expect or imagine. But, he has provided also so much more, and promises so much more, and now my God, let us see a glimpse of the fulfilment of your promises. I wait for you. Amen.

Hope In God

Today's verse is Psalm 39:7
     And now, Lord, what wait I for?
      My hope is in thee.

  Does it appear that nothing is going right? Consider the above verse and read it in context. For it was written in the midst of one in despair. Once we can claim to be children of God, we can know that nothing that happens to us is without cause, we can know that our God has not forgotten us, even though all appears as lost. As the Psalmist does here, keep your hope upon the Lord your God, continue to seek him, repent as necessary, and wait upon him, then when the time is right he will lift you out of the mire to stand in a firm place and you will have cause to Glorify your God in all things. Amen.

Be Reconciled

Today's verse is 2 Corinthians 5:20
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

   Now we that have chosen to accept Christ’s free gift of Redemption will find that we have been chosen of God to represent him to others. But none of us are perfect, none of us are yet without sin, nor shall we be, till the day of Glorification, when we all shall be changed, and our Salvation shall be complete. So till that day, as we accepted his forgiveness before, so we should continuity seek that same again each time we stumble, not in need of a full washing which is no longer necessary, but a regular cleansing, that our access to our Lord is not hindered. Amen.

The Exchange

Today's verse is 2 Corinthians 5:1
For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

   What is being said here? What is this “our earthy house” and what is this “house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens?” Currently we have fleshly bodies which are mortal, that is, they are perishing and will one day die. But we that have received Jesus Christ have been promised that we will never die. That is, because one day, whether after death, or when Christ returns we shall exchange our earthy bodies for spiritual, or heavenly bodies, and this is but the smallest part of the Great Hope, for in that day we shall see Him, and know Him, and be like Him, and our Salvation shall then be complete. Amen.

Commit Thy Way To Your God

Today's verse is Psalm 37:5
     Commit thy way unto the LORD;
      Trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

  What so ever you do, what so ever you plan, all that you purpose, bring it before your God for his approval. Even better, seek his direction, and purpose to follow his lead. Know that God has a plan for you, and you will find that as you set your foot on the path he has set for you, committing to God all that you have, that it is he that will accomplish his purpose in you. So do not fear, nor hesitate, for the sooner you follow him, the quicker you will find that all that you do has meaning and purpose for all eternity. Amen.

Why Evil Thrives

Today's verse is Psalm 36:4-5
     He deviseth mischief upon his bed;
      He setteth himself in a way that is not good;
      He abhorreth not evil.
     Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens;
      And thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

    A common question: Why does God allow evil to thrive? In another place, we are told that the goodness of God leadeth us to repentance. God allows such to thrive in order to give them every chance to repent. Another place says that God hates the death of the wicked, for once such a one dies, they are forever separated from their Creator. Our God loves each and every one of his creation, and this includes you. Have you repented? Have you recognized the goodness of God in your life? Yes, there is evil about, and it has no doubt hurt you, but if you are honest with yourself, you are evil, but still God allowed some goodness to touch you as well, so be thankful for that, focus on that, and Glorify God for that, then see what he has done for you in Jesus Christ, then repent accepting his gift of life, offered by his death and resurrection. Amen.

Choose!

Today's verse is Deuteronomy 11:26-28
     Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;
     A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:
     And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.

   Whatever choices you may face today, choose to obey, yea even better, to follow the Lord thy God, which created Heaven and Earth, then by his choice, took your place and suffered the judgment of God for you. Are you afraid of Climate Change? God will judge: Choose him. Does you neighbor demand you hate your other neighbor? Choose God, and Love your neighbors, remembering that God chastens those he loves. Whatever else you may need to choose today, what to eat, what to wear, how to spend your time: Choose God. For whether soon or late in choosing the Most High God, you will be choosing the blessing, but if you forsake him, again whether soon or late, you will reap the curse, and your sin shall find you out. Selah [Think on this.] Amen.

What is Required Of Us?

Today's verse is Deuteronomy 10:12
And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

  We ask what does God what from us? In this verse we find the answer: Everything. As sons of Adam, our initial response is: That is too much! Then we see Jesus, the One that took our place, paid our price in full and satisfied an Angry God and made a way for us to escape his Wrath. Then we see that all we are, all we have is not enough, but if we receive his Gift, then surrender to him, he makes of us more than we can imagine, more than we can comprehend, then by his strength we can then give him our all, for we have received from him all that we are. Remember What God Has Done For You

Today's verse is Deuteronomy 8:2
And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

  There are three groups of people in relation to the testimony of this verse: Those that have fully surrendered to Jesus Christ, those that have only accepted his gift of salvation, and those that can have no concept of what this verse is speaking about. Today, I call upon you that have known your Savior to remember how he has shown himself to you. How he has revealed himself through you, and the impossible things he has done around you. Remember them, know them, Trust in him who has done those things yesterday, for he is still not only able, but willing to do them today, as we continue to walk with him. To all others:
  O taste and see that the Lord is good:
Blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

God Sees You

Today's verse is Psalm 33:18
     Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him,
      Upon them that hope in his mercy;

  Are you distressed? Cast down? Think that there is no hope? Do not despair, the Lord your God has seen your trouble, and is already moving to carry you through. He will sustain you, and as you rely upon him, he will strengthen you, and before you know it, you will have arrived on the other side, amazed and in awe of what the LORD your God has done. So do not despair, and keep your eyes upon him that loves you, and rejoice in him that will do it. Amen.

Adding To, Taking Away, Or Forgetting Altogether, God's Word

Today's verse is Deuteronomy 4:2
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

  Today, we live in a nation that has forgotten the Lord our God, for we have forsaken him and his Word. Yet as he has promised Israel, so we can take part. The Bible, God’s Word, shows us that we need a Savior, one who has been able to keep that Word, not adding to it, nor taking away from it. One who having not sinned, taking upon himself our sins and receiving in himself the punishment thereof, that if we repent and come to him, we shall be forgiven and accepted of him. But if we do not, then the chaos that we currently see shall only increase till all those that have forsaken God and his Word are destroyed, possibly by their own actions. But God will preserve, or remove his own, and we shall see his Glory. Amen.

When Your Enemies Seem To Have The Power

Today's verse is Psalm 31:13-14
     For I have heard the slander of many:
      Fear was on every side:
      While they took counsel together against me,
      They devised to take away my life.
     But I trusted in thee, O LORD:
      I said, Thou art my God.

  Are you the subject of lies about you? Do they that hate you appear to have power over you? Do you know what God has planned for you, but they would hinder it? Continue to place your trust in the Lord your God, for his plans will always prevail. Though the way may seem hard, yea, impossible even, Remember your Savior, Jesus Christ, and what he has done for you, and endure as he did, and has he prevailed you also will you, but forget not his pain, for you may have to also endure but a piece of it, but your God will lift you up and fulfill all of his promises to you, as he has said. God's Promised And Abundant Blessings

Today's verse is Deuteronomy 1:11
(The LORD God of your fathers make you a thousand times so many more as ye are, and bless you, as he hath promised you!)

   Israel as they wandered in and through the wilderness, having lost much, gained so much more. For their sin and hardheartedness they suffered and all that refused to believe God perished, yet their children survived and in greater numbers than when they left Egypt. As the example they gave us, we can learn from, as we forsake the way our God shews us, we shall suffer, yet he does not forsake us, but if we accept him and his way, we shall not miss any of his blessings, and even as we might suffer hardship, he will from that make us stronger, yea even richer in ways we cannot imagine that he might be Glorified in us, and we in him.
