Be Patient, And Trust In Your God

Today's verse is Psalm 40:1-2
     I awaited patiently for the LORD;
      And he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
     He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay,
      And set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

    As David ever been in a pit of miry clay? I know that it is recorded that Jeremiah was, but at this time I know of no record that David was. Nevertheless, David has testified that the Lord has brought him up out of the horrible pit, out of the miry clay. How? Why? Consider that twice David went running and dwelled in the wilderness, it could be that these times David referred to as an horrible pit. Maybe, it was the time between he had killed Uriah, Bathsheba's Husband, and when Nathan confronted him. Are there not other examples we could speculate on? Whatever time David may have been thinking upon, one or all, David waited upon the Lord his God, and he trusted in him, his hope was in the Lord his God. God we see, God we have recorded, that he did deliver David. So, if you find yourself in a similar dark place, if you would describe your situation as an horrible pit full of miry clay, will you do as David did, and Trust in the Lord your God? Will you place your hope in the Lord? If you do, you will find that as God delivered David, so also will he deliver you in due course, in due time. So, Wait on the Lord, Be of Good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: Wait, I say upon the Lord. Amen.

To God be the Glory
