Are You Overwhelmed?

Today's verse is Psalm 43:1-2
Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation:
O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.
For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off?
Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

Are you as the Psalmist here? Have you wondered where God is, or why he is allowing such wickedness to continue, even allowing those wicked, apparently, to subjugate and oppress those that fear God? Have you read God’s Word? Do you know what Jesus Christ allowed himself to suffer? Do you truly think you are greater than your Savior? Jesus Christ suffered death for us, should we not be willing to do the same for him? Notice also that the Psalmist confesses that he has allowed the actions of the wicked to affect his countenance, I have done the same; yet another Psalmist, even David, has commanded us to Fret not thyself because of evildoers. Why? Because we know who God is, and we know he still reigns, that is, we know he is still in control, and that all that we see today, he said it would happen. And we know that Jesus Christ is coming again, and when he does, he is coming to Judge, and will destroy all those that have refused him, for their wickedness shall be full, but he will save, or raise up, all those that trusted in his Redemption. Selah [will you be found wanting?] Amen.
