Remaining In The Spirit

Today's verse is Galatians 3:3
Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

Paul had testified that according to the law, he was blameless, that the only way the law condemned him was by lust, that is, he wanted that which was not his. Yet, having come to faith in Jesus Christ, he counted all of that as dung, as Isaiah testified, all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags. Therefore, by the flesh, that is by our own strength attempting to follow after the law, comes no good thing. But elsewhere Paul admonishes us to surrender not to the flesh, but to the Spirit who teaches us to Love, God first, then one another, which also includes ourselves, for we are to love others as ourselves, all by faith, that is trusting our God to lead us into all Righteousness for his Name’s sake. Amen.

The Lord Is Our Rock

Today's verse is 2 Samuel 22:3
The God of my rock; in him will I trust:
He is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge,
My saviour; thou savest me from violence.

What we must remember, is that this is David’s testimony after he faced all the troubles he had up until he had given us this Psalm. Throughout all of his troubles God had been his Rock, his fortress, and his deliverer, and when he looked back, he could see it all. There may have been times when it did not seem like it, for example, as he served Achish, the king of Gath. Most likely very dark days indeed. Yet, other days, in the midst of the darkness, God would have given him light to shine forth, and given him hope, which I base not only on his testimony here, but upon my own experience. So, let us as David, choose Today, to trust in the Lord our God, even our Saviour, for as he delivered David, so also will he deliver us through all of our Troubles. even if it is by bringing us Home. Amen.

Always Something To Praise God For

Today's verse is Galatians 1:5
To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Do you give to God the Glory he is due? We have been told That we should rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven and again, But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth[.] An aspect of Glory is to praise, and to understand the enormity of what it is to understand and know God, that is to have our names written in heaven, is to consider some, if not all, of the things that are considered lesser. The psalmist, even David, in considering the moon and the stars, asked what is man, that thou art mindful of him, yet God considers us, man, to be of more import than the stars, even as we see in the gospel, the Good News, for God himself, even Jesus Christ, the Son of God, his Word, took our place, when he died upon the Cross, that we might be found in His place, with Him, when we stand before the Father. Selah [This is but the beginning of the Majesty of God, and the Glory he is due.] Amen.

Judgment Is Coming, Are You Ready?

Today's verse is Psalm 75:10
     All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off;
But the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.

How well do you know the plans God has for the Earth, and those that dwell in it? That is, how well do you know and understand what God has told us in the Bible, even God’s Word, about what has happened before, and what he has Said that he will do, before his Son returns, and after? Are you ready? Are you Watching for his Appearing? Do you know that there is no middle ground? Do you understand how it is that God is to be Feared, because he forgives? And, Who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die? Therefore, if you have not already, choose today which side you shall be found, for everything says that the time is short, but now is the accepted time, behold, now is the day of salvation. Again, Are you ready? Amen.

How Will You Know That God Is The Lord?

Today's verse is Ezekiel 26:6
And her daughters which are in the field shall be slain by the sword; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

Here is a sobering question: How will you know that God is the Lord? Will you learn of him by his wrath? Or will you submit to him, having learned of his gentle goodness and his kind nature? Last month I wrote a post titled “God is able to handle your enemies.” And in it, it was made clear who the enemy was, and to and for whom God would act. Are you one, that seeing the Judgments of God on a wicked world says, “God cannot be both Good, and all powerful!” choosing therefore to remain an enemy of God, thus only knowing his Wrath, having despised the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? Or will you give God the Glory he is due and find the reasons God has given you to be thankful, even as he has given commandment, In everything give thanks, thus finding that door to repentance and the Forgiveness that God has provided by and through his Son, Jesus Christ. Selah [Let this not depart from your thoughts.] Amen.

The Sure Fate Of The Wicked

Today's verse is Psalm 73:17
     Until I went into the sanctuary of God;
      Then understood I their end.

I see in the world today those that stand against God, having no fear of God, all of their boastings, appearing to be above any that would rebuke them, for such lands upon deaf ears, for they think themselves above reproach, and even as they decry oppression, they themselves oppress the most. There is no fear of God in their eyes. And even here where the Psalmist is tempted to fret, and to envy such, so do I. But God is not deaf. God is not Blind. Do we not know that he has declared the end from the beginning? If we search his Word, can we not see how he will deal with such? Even now, knowing what God has for them, how he may give them their desire till they choke on it, let us that Know God, that have benefited from his Mercy, and have received of his Grace, not fail to open our mouths and warn, for he is able to pierce the hardened heart, and some will repent, but those that do not will have been warned, and all, whether they be condemned or Redeemed, will give all the Glory to God. Amen.

The Powerful Weapons Of The Saints

Today's verse is 2 Corinthians 10:4
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

The weapons of the carnal are swords and knives, even spears and polearms, bows and crossbows, and in this age, we now have guns and rifles not to mention bombs, all for the destruction of the enemy. However, as servants of Jesus Christ, yea as his friends, and siblings of the King, the weapons he provides us, can not only destroy (make no mistake) but can also Redeem, even to piercing the hardened heart, convicting and convincing of sin, with the hope of redemption, so is the Power of God’s Word, and the Prayer of the Saints of God, whom have also been Redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb. Therefore, let us study, and practice, that when it comes time to use these for the benefit of those around us, and ourselves, that we may not be found wanting in the presence of our God, as he works in the world of men. Amen.

Enduring Chastening Gracefully

Today's verse is 2 Samuel 16:12
It may be that the LORD will look on mine affliction, and that the LORD will requite me good for his cursing this day.

David’s hope was not in vain, though we are commanded not to take pity, when one is found guilty and receives just judgment, neither are we to rejoice in his misfortune, as Solomon observed Lest the Lord see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him. David, if he remembered Nathan’s pronouncement against him, knew why he was suffering these current events, and counted Shimei’s cursing as a part of his discipline, and indeed, as we read on, David was restored, but not without a heavy cost. Are you like David being chastened of the Lord? Then lift up the hands that hang down, and the feeble knees; and make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed. For even as David was Restored and will be given a throne in the Kingdom of God, so will you if you Repent, and walk with him that loves you. Amen.

What To Do When All Seems Dark

Today's verse is Psalm 69:13
But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time:
O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.

In this Psalm, the Psalmist, even David is in Reproach, he says without cause, but he also confesses his sin before God, and yet the greater context speaks of the one without sin, even Jesus Christ and his suffering on the Cross, when we all as sons of Adam, turned against the God that loves us. But in this verse, we are given the answer of what we should do when it seems the whole world is against us. Even to turn to the one that Created us, the one who Made us, and even in our worst state, loves us still, even to laying down his life when we were his enemies that we might have life in him. So, when all seems at its darkest, turn to the Most High God, and as he heard David, yea, even as he Heard Jesus Christ, so will he also hear you. Amen.

Do You Recognize The Strength Of God?

Today's verse is Psalm 68:34-35
     Ascribe ye strength unto God:
      His excellency is over Israel,
And his strength is in the clouds.
O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy places:
The God of Israel is he
That giveth strength and power unto his people.
      Blessed be God.

Initially, I considered using this verse from 2 Corinthians: Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. But I can at this time only list one of those promises. Yet, consider these verses from Psalms, adding the words with which Paul had admonished us. Do you ascribe strength to God? That is do you recognize the Power God has? Do you realize the terribleness of God, that is that God is worthy of our Fear, but yet, by that same fear we can access by his Spirit that same Power, that same Strength to overcome those things in us that displease him who loves us? Selah [Let the Dread of God motivate you to be found pleasing to him.] Amen.

Being Separate

Today's verse is 2 Corinthians 6:17
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

Today, when inclusion and tolerance is preached, let us remember that even as our God is Holy, even so, does he require of us to be Holy. Thus are we to come out from among them. For our God requires of us to follow not their ways, but his, that he might be glorified in us, and us in him. Let us so approve ourselves as the Ministers of God, not that we are better, but that God is better, and that his ways, the ways that lead to Life, are better than those that lead only unto death. For until he calls us home, we are to live among them, work among them, not partaking of their evil deeds, but shewing forth the Wonderful Works of our Lord Jesus, that they too might enjoy the Redemption that we have found in Jesus Christ. Amen.

Have You Received The Earnest Of God's Salvation?

Today's verse is 2 Corinthians 5:5
Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

The beginning of this verse is speaking of the Hope that we have, wherein we shall be changed, no longer subject to these frail corruptible bodies which from the day that we are born are dying, prone to sin and displease the God that Loves us, and having recieved that love, We love him. But until that fulness of time is come, to show forth His intent, and to secure us into his Family, our God has given us His Holy Spirit as His Earnest of the Salvation which he provided for us by His Son, that we will be sealed unto the Day of Redemption, when God shall change all of them that are found in him, when death shall be swallowed up in Victory. Enduring, Not Fainting

Today's verse is 2 Corinthians 4:1
Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

Have you met Jesus Christ? Do you know what he has done for you? If you know nothing else, ye know that you have been called to share this with others that they too may benefit by Christ’s grace. However, as you walk with your Saviour he may shew you his purpose for you, and when he does and you find the burden seems to heavy for you, Look for his grace, seek out and know what mercies he has provided for you, for indeed, it truly is too great for you, but not for him who desires to work through you, so focus not on what you can do, but what He can and will do, and so seeing the mercy he has provided, you will be able to Stand, and not faint. Liberty Or Bondage?

Today's verse is 2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

What liberty does the Spirit of God give us? That is, from what does the Holy Spirit set us free? Indeed, many when they think of liberty, think of freedom from righteousness, not knowing that they were born into slavery, even as the servants of sin. But as we learn rather to surrender unto God, we are then by His Spirit made free from sin, that we might become the servants unto God. Yea, we are given the Spirit of Liberty, that the bondage of sin, may no longer have its hold upon us, who have known the Son of the Living God, who died for our sin, that he might make us Righteous before the Righteous Judge. So, Christian, whom have you surrendered to Today? Yea, who are you surrendered to even Now? Amen.

The Sweet Savour Of Our Testimony

Today's verse is 2 Corinthians 2:15-16
For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

Has not our God also said, So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth;/ It shall not return unto me void, / But it shall accomplish that which I please, / And it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. We by God’s Word can be confident that He, by His Spirit, and by the sacrifice Christ made of himself on the Cross, that he draws all men unto himself, but God is gracious and he will not force any man, but will give him sufficient knowledge of the Truth that if he would, he could come to receive the Saving Power that Jesus Christ offers to all men [generic, for those that refuse such things.] But those that refuse, even for them God has his purpose even as we are told: The Lord hath made all things for himself:/ Yea, even the wicked for the day of evil. But because you have testified, you are clear of their blood, and their mouth will be stopped in the day of Judgment because they will have been warned. Amen.

Knowing God's Consolation

Today's verse is 2 Corinthians 1:7
And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.

We know that if we are in Christ Jesus, we are partakers of his Grace, yet in the times that we are not evidently suffering, that grace may go unnoticed. But when we are called upon to suffer, even as our Savior suffered, or even suffering during chastisement, that grace that we have of God becomes more evident, to one degree or another, according to the purpose for which we suffer. So, during those seasons when you are called upon to suffer, be diligently looking for that grace, even the consolation which the Lord your God has for you, for of a surety it will be there, if only to be seen later, that the lesson God has for you may be learned. So, stand fast, and be steadfast, knowing that you shall reap in due time, if you faint not in well doing. Amen.

The Wrong And Right Way To Approach God

Today's verse is Ezekiel 14:7
For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to a prophet to inquire of him concerning me; I the LORD will answer him by myself:

From the verse above do you understand the nature of the person that is described? Is it not the same that Jeremiah lamented about as he testified, Judah hath not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly. But what does the Lord God want from us? Consider what Paul told the Hebrews, He [God] is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him, and again what is the greatest commandment? Is it not, Thous shalt love the Lord they God with al thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might, and in the Gospels, we find that our minds are also included. In Revelation, we are told that Jesus hates those that are lukewarm, so therefore, let us choose this day, If God be God, let us come to him with a whole heart, and seek and serve him with diligence, and remember what he told King Asa, The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. How will God shew himself strong for you? Selah [Don’t be surprised by the answer.] Amen.

The Blessed Hope

Today's verse is 1 Corinthians 15:51
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

Do you know Jesus Christ? Have you believed in your heart that he died for you? Have you confessed with thy mouth that he has risen from the dead? Do you have the witness in yourself by the Spirit of God, that you are a Son of God? We have been commanded to Watch for his appearing, and when he appears unto his own, we all that are his shall be changed, our salvation shall then be complete. Has not John told us, every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. Will you be ready? Are you ready? Let us therefore, Watch, for how can it not be that that day is closer than when we first believed, and as we Watch, let us also work out our own Salvation with fear and trembling, that others may see, and so be convicted and convinced of the Grace and Mercy of God. Amen.

Being Broken Before God

Today's verse is Psalm 51:17
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit:
A broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Truly, the more we understand and know of God’s Word, Yea, the more we see God, and Know him, we see the damage that was done when our father Adam chose to disobey God, and eat of that forbidden fruit, and so till our redemption is fulfilled when we shall be changed does the flesh continually war against the Spirit of God, and how can this not break us, who have learned to Love the things of God, and the Righteousness of his Word? Did not Jesus tell us that if we should fall up him (the cornerstone chosen of God) we will be broken, but and if we wait till he falls upon us, he will grind us to powder? Let us therefore fear, confessing our sins to him, that being broken, we can then be built up in righteousness according to his Word, even as he has promised in his Word, that in the end, we shall stand before him righteous and whole, to his Honour and Glory. Amen.

God Protects, Even As He Chastens

Today's verse is Ezekiel 11:16
Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come.

Know now that the above verse is a Promise that the Lord God Most High has given to Israel, his chosen people, as they wander in other lands not their own, till God restores to them, not just their land, but to their central place as God’s people, as his ambassadors to the whole earth. But now we also who have learned of Jesus Christ, and have been sealed by his Spirit, but for one reason or another (for the flesh is weak) have turned aside, even as we experience the chastening hand of God upon us (proof that he loves us, and has not forsaken us,) he keeps us (believe it or not) whole, though our whole world falls apart around us, in his sheltering hands. If you find yourself in such a state, do not despair, but first examine yourself, do you truly know him, does he know you? IF not, come to him now, but if so, Repent, and confess your sin to him, has he not promised, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgives us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Even has he has promised to restore Israel, and will do it, so will he restore you, that you will once again Glorify your God, and enjoy it. Amen.

Are You Mindful Of That Which Is Most Important?

 Today's verse is Psalm 49:15
But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave:
For he shall receive me. Selah.

This I believe is the central message of the Bible, God’s Word, as Jeremiah commands us: But he that glorieth glory in this, That he understands and knoweth me, . . . And Jesus tells us something further Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you, but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. Whatever else may befall you, for good, or for evil, hold fast to this truth (if true, if not do not delay) That you have been Redeemed by the Lamb of God, slain for you from the foundation of the world, that you might be presented spotless before the Father. As You See God's Judgments, Rejoice!

Today's verse is Psalm 48:11
     Let mount Zion rejoice,
Let the daughters of Judah be glad,
      Because of thy judgments.

Those that reject God say, “God cannot be all Powerful, or all Knowing, and also be Good.” Not knowing, neither does it come into their mind, nor do they allow that God will Judge. I have said before, and I say again, the evil and the suffering you see today, is but the beginning of the Judgment of God upon a wicked world who knows not, nor wishes to know God. But even as we that have learned of and know God, grieve, even as God grieves, for the lost souls of men, we can and should Rejoice, does not the passage above say Let mount Zion rejoice? Therefore, let us obey the command of our God, and rejoice as we see his Judgments prevail, for among other things, it teaches us that the ways of men, without God, can only led to destruction, even without God’s intervention, and that God’s Judgment is actually a Mercy. Amen.

Out Of Turmoil, God Provides

Today's verse is 1 Samuel 30:26
And when David came to Ziklag, he sent of the spoil unto the elders of Judah, even to his friends, saying, Behold a present for you of the spoil of the enemies of the LORD;

Israel was soon to lose her present King, for Saul was set to die in the coming battle against the Philistines, and here we see David dividing the spoil he and his men took from the Amalekites which had burned Ziklag and had taken the families of David and his men, and sending that spoil to Judah, even to those that he had dwelt among, as he hid from Saul, presumably to repay them for the kindness David had received from them as he dwelt among them. Yet, it appears that God had a greater purpose, for as David was to go to Hebron soon, these gifts David gave surely brought David to the remembrance of the tribe of Judah, preparing them to consider to anoint David King over them, which we shall see later that they did. Selah [Do you see God working.] Amen.
