Our Purpose

Today's verse is 1 Peter 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, fa peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Ye that name the name of Jesus Christ, for what purpose were you saved? Were you saved that you may in your Liberty, do as you have done before? That is, to use your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin. live any longer therein? Read again the verse above, for this is the purpose God has saved you, and left you here, now strangers and pilgrims, will you show your neighbor what God has done for you. Will you for the sake of the One that Died for you, not cowering, but by His Spirit, face that same hate that placed him on the Cross, that those same may see the Love of God, for them, through you? For your Savior, are you willing to be peculiar (strange, weird) for him, that others too might be called out of the darkness that is this world, into his marvellous light. Selah [Think on these things.] Amen.
