Unbelief Is A Choice!

Today's verse is Hebrews 3:19
So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

The testimony of God’s Word is clear: The heavens declare the glory of God; /And the firmament sheweth his handywork. /Day unto day uttereth speech, /And night unto night sheweth knowledge. /There is no speech nor language, /Where their voice is not heard. And again, in another place, Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse[.] So God, who cannot lie, has testified in his Word, that no man needs his Word to know that God is. And once we have discovered God’s Word, there is abundant evidence in it that God knows the end from the beginning, given any who is honest clear proof that God has spoken to us in it. Therefore, unbelief comes not from a lack of evidence, but by a choice. Selah [Which choice have you made?] Amen.

The Importance Of Salt

Today's verse is Leviticus 2:13
And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.

First, a meat offering, is not of an animal, as would be commonly understood today, but it is of fine flour, even unleavened bread, or wafers. But we are looking at the necessity of Salt. Jesus Christ has called himself the bread of life, but he has called us who have been identified in him as Salt. Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Now we know that salt as two purposes. It adds, or enhances, flavor, and it also preserves. So, let us not be silent, but boldly claim our Lord’s goodness in thanksgiving, that our neighbours might see the goodness of the Lord that they might be preserved from his wrath which shall come when he removes the Salt from the earth. Amen.

Jesus Christ, The Same Yesterday, Today, and Forever.

Today's verse is Hebrews 1:12
And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.

The world we live in, yea the whole universe is finite, temporary even, as said in an other place that the whole creation groans and travails in pain, even until now, just as we that Know Jesus Christ also does till we see the adoption, even the redemption of our body, when we shall be changed, and as we shall be changed, so too the heavens and the earth as testified here. But God, even Jesus Christ changes not, for he is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. He is the same one that rescued Lot as he destroyed Sodom and its surrounding cities. He is the same that Jonah disobeyed and was chastened, even as he spared Nineveh because they repented at Jonah’s simple warning. Yea, he is the same that offers us all Redemption, but will take vengeance upon all them that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Are you ready to face him when he appears? Amen.

The Correct Response To God's Word

Today's verse is Exodus 35:1
And Moses gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel together, and said unto them, These are the words which the LORD hath commanded, that ye should do them.

And Jesus, quoting scripture said, it is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. And have we not been told, For thou [God] hast magnified thy word above all thy name. But there is one that came in the beginning saying, Yea, hath God said. . .? Of which of these do you hold to? Do you, having found God’s Word, treasure it, seeking to understand and obey it, keeping it dear to your heart and mind? Or do you allow questions to arise of its veracity, allowing these things to cause you to question God himself and what he requires of you? Know now, even as he is the author of it (All scripture is given by inspiration [literally: God Breathed] of God, and holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.) so also has he (not us) preserved it. (The words of the Lord are pure words: /As silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. /Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, /Thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.) So, knowing what God has commanded, will you do them? Amen.

The Power Of Knowing God's Promises

Today's verse is Exodus 32:13
Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it for ever.

The Children of Israel have sinned, and their sin was great, and God was shewing Moses that he was willing to unleash his wrath; to what did Moses resort to appease the Lord? Even the promise that God had made unto Abraham, to Issac, and to Israel! It was not the worthiness of the people, but the promise that God had made, that stayed his hand. Just as the children of Israel were not worthy, so also us, but even as God was appeased by his promise to Abraham, so also can we approach him though the promises God has made to us through his Son, and by his Son, we can come to him, for through him and him alone can his anger be assuaged. Do you know any of his promises? Amen.

Putting On The Mind Of Christ

Today's verse is Philippians 2:3
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

As I was reading today, I had cause to consider the angels, that they each had their station, and those angels that still serve God, they are content where they are at, even as Paul testifies whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. Those that are in the world are constantly seeking to “climb the corporate ladder.” This is not to be our aim, nor goal, but to serve our God, and our brothers and sisters in Christ, that he in us might be magnified and lifted up, and if he sees fit to lift one of us up, that the greatest of us, is the servant to all. Amen.

Understanding The Extent Of God's Mercy

Today's verse is Psalm 90:14
     O satisfy us early with thy mercy;
That we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

This psalm shews us a God that is not constrained by time, and above that a God that is Angered by the waywardness of Man, even us that are here today, and gone tomorrow, a blip, in the passage of time, yet he tells us that he is slow to anger, and longsuffering to us, even as we rebel with every fiber of our being. Therefore, how should we respond? A Psalmist has told us, there is forgiveness with thee, /That thou mayest be feared. And both Paul and Peter have placed a great importance of Knowing him that made us, both his wrath and his mercy and grace, even his lovingkindness to us who transgress without a care. So, as words fail me, let me end with His: Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences. Amen.

Wearing The Armour Of God

Today's verse is Ephesians 6:11
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

One of the pieces of the armour of God, is the girdle of Truth. As I was reading today, in Exodus, I saw that we were not to countenance a poor man in his cause. A few verses later we were not wrest the judgment of thy poor in his cause. There are those today that would have us “countenance” the poor, that is, because they are poor, we are to judge them right. But our God has commanded us to judge righteous judgment. Whether a man is rich or poor does not determine whether or not his cause is just or not, just as one that is championing for the poor is not necessarily virtuous, did not Judas Iscariot, jealous of the purse, lift up the cause of the poor to mask his own covetous heart? This is but one example of the wiles of the devil are you prepared; do you have your Armor on? Selah [Be prepared by knowing God’s Word.] Amen.

Promises To Remember

Today's verse is Psalm 33:12
     Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD;
And the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

Let us also consider certain other promises of God. He told Israel, Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And then through Paul he warned: Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Recently, where I live, we have rejected those vain words and in part, as loud as they shout, they have been silenced. But it is obvious that we are not a Nation whose God is the Lord, so while we may receive a reprieve from the full wrath of God, let us that Know the Lord, remember that all the earth is His, and we still have a responsibility to warn of His Wrath, and to tell of his Grace, and the promises he has given to those that will receive it. Amen.

Have You Put On The New Man?

Today's verse is Ephesians 4:24
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

It has been asked, “Can a man change?” and though in scripture we see the necessity that a man must change, we find that no man can change himself, even though some make a valiant effort, and appear to others as having changed, but when they appear before God, they find that all of their righteousness is as filthy rags. Thus, we must find this new man, which is spoken of here, which only can be found by obeying the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. For only by recognizing that we deserve God’s wrath, and humbling ourselves, and accepting that Jesus Christ, God’s Only Begotten Son, took that wrath upon himself, that we that come to him confessing that he is Lord, believing that God hath raised him from the dead can we put on this new man, which God creates in righteousness and true holiness in that moment. And once we have been born anew, daily and moment by moment, we must constantly surrender, reckoning ourselves indeed dead to sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

God Will Direct, Or Show The Way

Today's verse is Exodus 13:22
He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.

I cannot tell you how many times I have wondered and questioned, “What does God want of me, what does he want me to do?” Yet, when I finally acknowledged the direction he had given me, it had been there, and I had actually known it the whole time. When I have presented this to a Pastor, his answer was, “God is more interested in showing us his will, then we are to accepting it.” Then, God gave them direction by the pillar of a cloud by day, and the pillar of fire by night, and now we have his Word, Will you trust him with your whole heart today? Will you submit your understanding to him? Will you acknowledge him in all that you do? If so, just as he led Israel through the wilderness, so too will he make you to know your end, even his purpose for you. Amen.

God Unifies Those That Come To Him

Today's verse is Ephesians 2:17
And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

Yesterday, we saw, and we looked at how God separates those that are his from the judgments that he will bring upon those that hate him, who have rejected his grace which he has given the world through his Son, even Jesus Christ. Yet, today, we see that there are none that God will cast off, if they but come to him by the gift he has given to us through his Son’s death upon the Cross, which he suffered for us all, who were by nature the children of wrath. Therefore, even as you have believed, even as you have discovered the terror of the Lord, so speak and seek to persuade your neighbour, for you know not who will hear, and who will forbear. Amen.

God Separates His Own

Today's verse is Exodus 8:23
And I will put a division between my people and thy people: to morrow shall this sign be.

Know this and Rejoice, Though God will discipline his children, and as grievous as that may be, he will not suffer his judgments to harm those that are his. Consider the testimony of Peter after he had recounted several judgments God has already executed: The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished[.] Therefore, I say again to those that Know the one that Died for them, REJOICE, whatever may befall you, for even as God had blessed Job and Joseph for their troubles, and delivered Lot and Jonah from Judgment, so will he do to all that are truly known of Him. God Will Teach Us What To Say!

Today's verse is Exodus 4:12
Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.

But some will say, God gave this promise to Moses, and I am not Moses! But what did Jesus tell his disciples, and thus also to us? Does he not say, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak[?] And in another place, the promise is even stronger, For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. Therefore, diligently seek to know thy God through his Word, which he has given to us, and fear not to speak, or rather, fear him more than those that hate you, because they hate him; for when you speak, you are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. Neither you nor I know who will hear, and who will not, nor do we know when what we have said, will take root to convict or convince, but God who is over all is sufficient for these things. Therefore, even as you have believed, so Speak. Amen.

Does God Know Your Name?

Today's verse is Exodus 1:15
And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah:

This is not the first time I have seen this, and I believe I have mentioned it before, that God does not give us all the names of those that are in His Story. Those such as the Man of God, and maybe even Such a One, God knows, but is withholding the name that their sin not be accounted to them. However, in this case, we have a man that is counted Great among those around him, and two slave women who pleased God. By other accounts, we may be able to determine which Pharoah, or king of Egypt, is mentioned here, but it is greatly debated which Pharoah did what in scripture. Yet, these two women, God saw fit to give us their names, they are known by him, and he honours them for their faith, and by their faith, their works. Will God so also know you? Amen.

Waiting, Or Looking For God's Salvation

Today's verse is Genesis 49:18
I have waited for thy salvation, O LORD.

Truly, already has that promise been fulfilled in Jesus Christ, and yet still we wait, even as the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. . . waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. For until we see that final installment of our Salvation, Sin, and the pain and turmoil it brings resides with us, until we see that Blessed Hope, the resurrection when all we that are in Christ Jesus shall be changed. But until then, having this hope, we endure, and we Seek him that Loves us, and we purifieth ourselves, even as he is pure. Amen.

The Promise, Or The Warning?

Today's verse is Psalm 25:14
     The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him;
And he will shew them his covenant.

Now we have recieved God’s Mercy, but having recieved mercy, will we fear God, and seek his Grace? What is this covenant that God will show those that fear him? It begins with it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. And it continues on with God’s promise to Abraham in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Concluding, with many more promises that are made sure by confessing with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and believing in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, and so thou shalt be saved. Then from here, having been born into the family of God, we must still diligently seek him that we might receive all that he has; knowing that if any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. That is, we shall have nothing to present to him, for the Gift he has given us, of which Paul later testifies: Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord. For truly It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Selah [How shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation.] Amen.

The Best Choice

Today's verse is Psalm 108:4
For thy mercy is great above the heavens:
And thy truth reacheth unto the clouds.

Mercy has been defined: not receiving that which is deserved. It would appear that my Nation has made the better choice, but have we made the best? Will we remember the Lord our God, and in the coming year, Yea, the coming years, will we humble ourselves to him and seek his truth, even THE Truth? For as we read his Word, we find that his Judgment, even his wrath may be right around the corner, even at the door, but if we seek him, perhaps he will send a revival not only to our neighbour, but to our neighbour's neighbour as well. Amen.

To Be A Good Steward

Today's Verse is Psalm 24:1
     The earth is the LORD’s, and the fulness thereof;
The world, and they that dwell therein.

Today, in the Nation I currently call home (Am I not an Ambassador for Christ, and is not my conversation in heaven, and stranger and Pilgrim in this current world) we that have citizenship have been given a vote, a choice to express our desire upon who shall lead and guide this Nation for the next two to four to six years according to the office they shall take. Knowing that as a steward of this choice I (even we) must be faithful to remember truly that The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; / the world, and they that dwell therein. One candidate currently reminded us of God’s injunction to Open thy mouth for the dumb /In the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. But let us continue Open thy mouth, judge righteously, (investigate the matter) and plead for the cause of the poor and needy. Another of the same party had counseled us to judge not according to what was said, but to judge by the actions. Therefore, if you be one of my countrymen, if you be a good steward, choose by this standard, who has both said and done these things that God demands? Selah [Remember, The vile person shall be no more called liberal, . . . For the vile person will speak villany, /And his heart will work iniquity, /To practice hypocrisy, and to utter error against the Lord, /To make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.] Amen.

God Does What He Says

Today's verse is Genesis 41:46
And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt.

Joseph was seventeen when his brothers sold him into slavery, and very shortly after that he was cast into prison for a thing he did not do, because he did not do it. But now, the beginning of the fulfillment of his dreams has started, yet he has eight and nine more years before all is fulfilled. Therefore, know this, what God has said, he will do, and from the evidence we have seen, Joseph has ever been faithful to God though he saw no reason to trust him. Yet, even more than he was faithful, God was and always is faithful, so if you have found a promise from him, hold fast to it, being faithful to him that made it whatever circumstance may come your way, that you diminish not what God has prepared for you, when his promises are fulfilled. Amen.

A False Expectation

Today's verse is Mark 15:36
And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down.

What do you expect from God? Do you like those that watched Jesus die, expect God to show his power, and only in that way you will believe him? Did not Jesus tell his disciples that the shepherd giveth his life for the sheep? It is by the Cross and his death upon it that God and his Son shewed the world how much he loves us, and for this purpose, though many with unbelief demand that he show his power by saving not us, but himself, that he remained and suffered for our sake, even for our sin, that if we will come to him confessing that he is Lord, and believing that God has risen him from the dead, that he shall save us. However, consider also this, Peter has told us: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord. and going on, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue. Therefore, let us learn of God through his Word, that we also might show his Love to all those about us, through us, and that the Power of the Gospel might be seen in us, that all that see it might also have the opportunity to be saved. Amen.
