Why We Can Forgive Ourselves.

Today's Verse is Genesis 50:15
And when Joseph’s brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him.

.    Though this was just mentioned a couple of days ago, it bears repeating, because our hearts are hard, and being hard, desperately wicked. Who among us has not found it difficult to receive forgiveness, and apply it to ourselves? But when Joseph’s brethren came back to him, fearful of his retribution, what was his answer to them, but what he told them before: God is, and has been, in control. And his brothers, having shown some sort of repentance, he forgave, just as God forgives us when we repent, and come to Jesus Christ for the forgiveness he provided by his death upon the Cross, Rising up from the grave that all who trust in him should be Justified. Will you Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and forgive yourself, even as you have been forgiven by God? Amen.

To God be the Glory
