Today's Verse is Exodus 6:9
And Moses spake so unto the children of Israel: but they hearkened not unto Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage.
Such is often a sad truth, that our troubles are often an impediment to hear from God, even made to be an excuse to reject God. Yet, God is gracious, and as he had sent Moses to speak to Pharoah to begin his plan for rescuing Israel from Egypt, in such a way that no one would be able to say, “God did not do that!” Here is an amazing thing, this week I was shown what God had said to Jeremiah, how God “looked back” at this time and remembered it with fondness, and now I understand, for God was wooing Israel to become his. And in the same fashion, he woos each of us that we might choose to come to him. Will you open your eyes, will you open your ears, to both see and hear the God that is calling you to him, that you[thou] might receive from him life eternal to spend with him? Amen.
