Just Beginning To Understand The Name: I AM

 

Today's Verse is Exodus 3:14

And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. 

    When I first had read this, before I had ever met God (Yes, we can met him) I wondered what kind of name is “I AM?” But, Oh, what a name, and how true. Just think, “I AM” is present, not past, not future, but always and only present! He is always now, he has no past, nor future (he made time for us) but he is to say again, always NOW. He has no problem spending however much attention on this thing our that. He has no problem given undivided attention to all that are his, and all that are not, and as such NOTHING escapes him, except that which he has chosen to forget (we find this elsewhere.) And this is only the beginning of what it is to understand the name “I AM.” And so, because he has chosen to Love us, he has given us the means to Repent through Jesus Christ his only begotten Son (his Word) that we might learn of him, even as he already knows us.
