Today's Verse is Genesis 25:7
And these are the days of the years of Abraham’s life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years.
These are the day of the years . . . I confess, this is something that I still need to learn, that the Lord our God as put an emphasis on the day, even Today. For even as he speaks of the day Christ gave his life for us saying, This is the day which the Lord hath made; /We will rejoice and be glad in it[,] we find that it was not only that day the Lord has made, but he has made Today as well. Even as he has said in another place, To day if ye will hear his voice, of which the context reminds us of when Israel refused to hear him, but instead in unbelief turned from the direction God had set for them. So, today, we find that we have a choice, whatever we may face today, whether it be hardship as Job faced, or waiting for the day our Lord delivers on his promises to us (Did not Abraham wait for over thirty years for his son Issac his promised son?) Or even the day we see the beginning of the fulfillment of such promises, let us endeavor to make each day a full one. For we have been given a choice between life and death. Even as Paul had elaborated Isaiah’s admonishment: I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee; behold, how is the accepted time, behold, now is the day of salvation. Let us, therefore, so hear our God lest we find ourselves in fear of the day even as Moses so warned: And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life; In the morning thou shalt day, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see. Having experienced the later, I hope never to return. Therefore, let us Rejoice in Today, and make the Most of it as we walk with the Lord our God. Amen.
To God be the Glory
