Today's verse is Exodus 12:13
And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
This is not the first, but it may be considered among the greatest pictures we have of the Savor, Jesus Christ. For as the lamb must die, that the blood may be gathered and then painted unto the door posts that those exercised their faith in God’s Word given by Moses, that they may be spared of the plague to come that very night, so, Jesus Christ, the lamb of God, died upon the Cross, and shed his blood for us that we who believeth in him for the forgiveness of sin, might be covered by that same blood, that when the Righteous Judge sees us, he sees not our sin, but the blood of the Lamb, and the Righteousness of the Lamb will be counted as ours instead. Amen.
To God be the Glory
