Does Not God Judge?

Today's verse is Luke 13:2-3
And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Today, it is a common thing to say, “God does not judge!” If we should see a car crash, that is not God! If we should see a house burn, that is not God! If a flood, or a tornado, or a hurricane, and people's lives and possessions are destroyed, that is not God! What of a mass shooting at a school or business? Still not God! Read again the verses above, is this what Jesus says? From the verses above and those that follow, it appears to be clear, that in all of the above, it can also be said, “Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” Did not both Job and Solomon tell us that the Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and does not Job continue, and say, “And to depart from evil is understanding.” Therefore, if we fear anything, let that fear cause us to Fear God, for of a truth, none of these things can hurt us unless God allows it, but if we displease him, what is to stop him from allowing it? So, let us Fear God and depart from evil, that when he does allow it, he will also carry us through, as he has promised those who have trusted his Son. Amen.
