Today's verse is Exodus 24:12
And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.
When Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law came and joined Moses and Israel, he counseled Moses to teach the elders, judges and the people the principles and laws by which the ought to live, God had not yet given a public standard that Moses could teach them. Now, having revealed the need, the foundation of the Law has been laid, so now all can read them, learn from them, live them, and therefore teach them, a need being revealed, has now begun to be fulfilled. But now, the law has been given, and by it another need has been identified, for even Paul, who said concerning the law, that he could be found blameless, (outwardly) testified that as he considered that tenth commandment, thou shalt not covet. . . he was found guilty, and the law which was, and is, good, was found death in him, but Christ knowing our need, did not leave us destitute, but by his grace, and through his mercy, he took our sin upon himself and paid the price for them, and now having risen from the grave, He has provided for us his Spirit, that we through him might be able to live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. Therefore, if he was willing to this for you, if you have any other need, Trust in him, put your hope in him, and ask him to fulfill it, for in him we can find our supply. Amen.
To God be the Glory
