Today's verse is Exodus 17:7
And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?
Once again, there was a problem, and once again what did the Children of Israel do? Did they trust in the Lord that had delivered them from Egypt? Did they trust the Lord that parted the Red Sea? Did they trust the Lord that made the bitter water sweet? Did they trust in the Lord that had given them Manna? It is without a doubt that the Lord God of Heaven brought them to this place called Rephidim, a place to spread out, a place of support. Did these following the Lord their God put their trust in him, saying, “He did all these other things, what will he do now?” Not at all, but rather, they again murmured and complained and charged God falsely, “You have brought us here to die of thirst!” So, what of you, are you now in a dry place, whether physically, or spiritually? Will you trust in the Lord your God and look for his provision? Or will you, as the children of Israel did murmur and complain only thinking, woe is me! Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord. Amen.
To God be the Glory
