Do You See A Good, Or A Terrible God In This?

Today's verse is Exodus 6:7
And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

A man proclaimed, “How could God have allowed the children of Israel to be placed under bondage to the Egyptians?” or again, “How could God allow his people to suffer the Holocaust?” But what did Jesus say of those that were killed by the tower of Siloam? Did he not say, “Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish?” Truly, the answer to any such accusation against God, must be “Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God?” As that same man indicated, the children of Israel were not, and are not, innocent. The amazing thing is not that God allowed them to suffer, but that he decided to deliver them, and by that same promise, for which, he delivered them, so also is that promise now also extended to us through this same Jesus that proclaimed judgment on those which the tower fell. Which will you take? What you deserve? Or the redemption that is found only in Jesus Christ because he took your sin upon himself, pleasing the Father on your behalf. Amen.

To God be the Glory
