Today's verse is John 5:17-18
But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
I have heard it said that Jesus never claimed to be God! Yet, this is but one passage where the Jews about him understood that he did indeed claim to be God, even the Son of God. So, let us therefore, let this question rest in our hearts, that Jesus Christ, the son of God, yea God the Son, came to earth to die on the Cross for us who have angered the Father, that our Sin might be forgiven, and was declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. Will you believe on the one God has sent? Amen.
To God be the Glory
Scott
