A Peculiar Treasure

Today's verse is Exodus 19:5
Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

Looking at this verse and its context, what is God’s desire? Indeed, what is this whole book about, but that God might have fellowship with the children of Adam. Even as the Children of Israel is God’s peculiar treasure, the Church is his peculiar people. Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. But we cannot come to him by our own terms, but we must approach him by his. Notice, that we are to obey his voice. Notice that through Jesus Christ, he has redeemed us from our iniquity. Notice that all this is done that by him we might even desire and do good works, not by our definition, but by his! Will you come? Casting off your own wicked works, to receive the finished work of Christ, that he might do his good work through you. Come Today! Amen.

To God be the Glory
Scott
