Belief, Or Unbelief?

Today's verse is Deuteronomy 1:33
Who went in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to shew you by what way ye should go, and in a cloud by day.

Moses here reminds the Children of Israel, that despite seeing God direct them in all the way they went, having seen great and mighty works, still they did not believe God. Consider the counsel of Solomon, “Acknowledge him [the Lord] in all thy ways, and he shall direct thy paths.” But the Psalmist says, “Be ye not as the horse, /Or as the mule, which have no understanding.” For Israel as a little child needed to be taken by the hand, even as we do from time to time. But now we have the full canon of God’s Word, and from it by God’s Spirit we can know what we must do to please the one that made us. And as we begin to walk according to his given Word, we will later find as we look back, having walked with him a way that we shall also see great and marvelous things that he has done for us, even given us direction specific to our individual path. So, be strong and of good courage, for your God goes before you, and behind you and above all with you, as you seek to walk with him and do of his “good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Amen
