A Time To Ponder

 

Today's verse is Luke 2:19

But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. 

    There will come times when you do not understand what God has told you, whether, it be already recorded in God’s Word, or something God has given you to direct your paths, as he has promised. Mary, here, gives us an example of what to do. Notice she did not act upon what was shown, but she did ponder them. She remembered them, and thought upon them, considering in herself what these things meant. As Solomon has said, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding.” I have found that my first attempt to understand a thing is almost, if not always, wrong. But if I wait, and observe, sometime later, as I consider those things, a true understanding, and Wisdom is gained. Amen.
