Today's verse is Psalm 118:15
The LORD hath chastened me sore:
But he hath not given me over unto death.
I fully believe that once you have truly (it is possible to deceive yourself about this) accepted God’s gift of Righteousness through Jesus Christ, which he had made available to us through his death upon the Cross, and sealed it by Rising again from the dead, that which you have committed to God, is secure. Yet when others have heard me express this belief, their chief objection has been to say, “Then I can sin all I want to, and still go to Heaven!?” Such a question has no understanding of the Salvation of God, nor the Love God has for his Children. When one that is redeemed, strays and follows the Flesh, rather than the Spirit, then God like the loving Parent he is, chastens them. (I for one can testify of the truth of this verse,) I can assure you it is indeed sore, and death would seem more pleasant. Yet, for the chastening, I find I can more easily see the Love my God has for me, and a refreshing Fear for him, that I hope I will never lose. Selah [Think on this.] Amen.
To God be the Glory
