Judgment Announced

Today's verse is 1 Samuel 2:25
If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the LORD, who shall intreat for him? Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, because the LORD would slay them.

From this verse to its fulfillment, I dare say, years went by, Yet it appears, Eli, being the High Priest of the Lord, and as it also appears was a Judge of Israel, did nothing more then this to restrain his sons. His sons were guilty of many things which the Law of God clearly declared to be worthy of death, yet Eli cared nothing for this, but favored (not loved) his sons over the clear teaching of the Word of God. For this he shared the judgment that came upon his sons, as God had warned him. True, God is longsuffering, but there is always the day of reckoning, and there is forgiveness in God’s Son, so the question is, When that day comes, will you be found as Eli and his sons, having rejected God’s Word? Or, will you, having found Righteousness in Jesus Christ, be found secure in the observance of the Word of God? This is your choice, so what will it be? Selah [Think on this.] Amen.

To God be the Glory
Amen.
