Rich Or Poor, We Owe God

Today's verse is Proverbs 22:2
The rich and poor meet together: The LORD is the maker of them all.

The term here “meet together” seems to speak of commonality, that is to say they have something in common. We are reminded here that all, whether rich or poor, are made by God, in fact, we are all made in the image of God. We all need to remember that all that we have, all that we are, has been given us of God, and to God we are responsible to how we use it. We are not to covet what our neighbor has, but we are to remember that “the laborer is worthy of his hire.”  So whether you have much, or little, in your eyes or the eyes of another, do not seek to take from another, but work with the gift or gifts God has given you, and be willing to give when your neighbor is in need. (That is not to say if you are in need to expect your neighbor to help, that is between him and God.) Selah [Think about this.] Amen.

To God be the Glory
Scott
