Afflictions Are Not Unexpected

Today's verse is 1 Thessalonians 3:3
That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto.

Paul is referring here to troubles that he is facing, of which the Thessalonians were possibly troubled. Whatever state you find another, or whatever state you find yourself, Do. Not. Worry, but, rather, Trust in the one who has delivered you from sin. He knows your state, he knows the state of your friend, and he has a purpose for it. So when troubles come, first and foremost, trust in the one who proved his love for you and pray, then as possible find ways to help. This is what would be pleasing to God. Amen.
