Count Your Many Blessings
Today's verse is Psalm 40:5
Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done,
And thy thoughts which are to us-ward:
They cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee:
If I would declare and speak of them,
They are more than can be numbered.
There is a hymn titled “Count your many Blessings,” this verse may very well be the inspiration of that song. Some may say though that God has given them nothing, for they can see no good in their lives, but this is because they are blind. If you are such a one as this, start with what the following passage promises and referrers to, that great promise, and most blessed gift God has given to man: The promise and reality of the redeemer, and redemption from sin through the sacrifice Jesus Christ made on the Cross for all that will receive it. Once you receive this, and start your count here, and trust him with all your heart, and follow him whatever may come, you will quickly lose count, as promised here. Selah [think about this.] Amen.
To God be the Glory
Scott
