Seeking, And Seeing The Most Important

Today's verse is Genesis 22:2
And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

Isaac, Son of Abraham, of whom God said that he would raise up a great nation. This is the promise of God! But what is more important, God, or the promise? We are told later: “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” If you know God, you know he cannot and will not break his promise. But, what is more important to you? The promise God made? or the God of the promise. We see here, that this is what God tested in Abraham, and we see that Abraham found the God of the promise more important than the promise itself. What of you? Are you holding to God’s promise, or are you seeking the God that made the Promise? Some have rejected him altogether. Of Which are you? Abraham chose God, and received the promise as well. Let us endeavor to do the same. Amen.

To God be the Glory
