Knowing God, and being Known By HIm

Today's verse is Galatians 4:9
But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?

In the stories, or parables, that Jesus told, of those that were rejected of God, did he not often say, that it was because God did not know them. In this verse we see a reciprocal relationship, one in which because God knows us, we are able to know him. Yet we also see a warning here as well, very similar to the warning Paul gave to the Romans, “Having known God, they glorified him not as God. . .” Because God knows us, yea, because we have as followers of Jesus Christ know our God, we have the ability to see God and the freedom he offers through the gift found in Jesus Christ, but as inconceivable as this verse makes such a thing seem: it is possible to turn away from the truth, even to pull “the wool” over our own eyes. So continue to Give God the Glory, and remain thankful, forsaking not the counsel of God’s Word, but if not, the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down. Have you been made good by Jesus Christ? Selah [Consider carefully what you believe.] Amen.

To God be the Glory
Scott
