What is That Obstacle For?
Today's verse is Joshua 4:23
For the LORD your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone over:
If you are reading with me, you may have noticed that the Jordan river is overflowing at the time that God parted it, making it even harder for a great number of people to cross it. So consider, is there an obstacle before you, if so ask yourself, why is it there? Is it to divert you from making a mistake, which you will regret? I have seen such obstacles, and in hind sight I praise God for them. Or is it, as we find here, an obstacle placed by God, so that God can show you his power and ability. If so remain faithful to the direction God has clearly given you, and whether to stand still, or to move forward, which was the command given here, obey God’s command to you, and you shall see what an Amazing God we have. Amen.
To God be the Glory
