The Reliablity of God's Word
Today's verse is Deuteronomy 18:21-22
And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?
When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
Herein is actually the second standard for God’s Word: If any of it is not true, all of it can be disregarded. That is to say that if 99% holds true, but there is a provable 1% that is false, even the 99 can be disregarded, as of no value. Some have said, we need to listen to so and so because they are have an accuracy of over 90%, yes the are wrong here and there, but everything else they have said is spot on, as God’s Word say here, pay no attention to them. But by this we can truly trust in the Word of God, for none of it has been proven untrue, and by this Word here, we can trust that it never will.
To God be the Glory
