Are You on God's Side?

Today's verse is Joshua 5:13-14
     And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?
     And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant? 

We see here a very important truth: it is not whether or not God is on our side, but are we on his? If we wish to be on his, we must do as he commands, and not put upon him our demands. (Not to say, he does not grant at least some of the whims of his servants,) but we must be his servants and do his will his way, not whatever we may think is best. So let us seek his face, and ask his direction, and we can be sure if we listen that he will give it. Amen.
