A Savior That Knows Us
Today's verse is Luke 4:2
Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.
Our Savior, being God made flesh, knew the weaknesses which come with the flesh, yet without sin. During this period as he fasted in the wilderness he knew hunger and the driving desire to sate that hunger, and yet true to his purpose of fasting he refused to do so. Jesus Christ was tempted just as we are, yet he sinned not, and from this he does not condemn us, but having died for us, understands the difficulty we have when we are tempted and has compassion on us. Wherefore he takes pity on us, and if we humble ourselves, he will receive us, and defend us, and remove our sins from us. Selah [think about this.] Amen.
