God's Leaders
Today's verse is Numbers 27:16-17
Let the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation,
Which may go out before them, and which may go in before them, and which may lead them out, and which may bring them in; that the congregation of the LORD be not as sheep which have no shepherd.
This is a grace that God has given us, that he sends to us someone that is to represent him, to those that follow after God. It is therefore important to determine, whether or not the leader you are following is the one God has appointed, and not one that has proclaimed himself as God’s leader for you. This can be done, first by comparing his teachings to God’s Word, and if he bears up to this standard, by the leading and prompting of the Holy Spirit, which will always guide in accordance to God’s Word. Once this is done, give to this leader your support, and follow his leadership, as commanded in Hebrews: “Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.” And so, God’s blessings will be upon you. Amen.
To God be the Glory
