Still Looking Forward

Today's verse is Numbers 15:2
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land of your habitations, which I give unto you, 

This command to speak to the children of Israel is presented to us immediately after their disobedience and God’s declaration that they would not enter into the promise land for another 40 years. Yet, he still gives them instructions for when they do finally enter in. From this we can take heart, for as Paul has said,  “For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.”  So, even if we are being chastened, our God will not forsake his promises to us, but will in due course fulfill all of them. Amen.
