Our Rock
Today's verse is Numbers 20:8
Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.
We see here the command that God gave to Moses, when he was for the second time to bring water out of the rock. This Rock is a type of Jesus Christ, the first time Moses was to strike the rock, signifying Christ’s death upon the Cross, but Jesus died on the Cross but once, and He will never do it again, for he finished the work that was needed. So this time Moses was to speak to the rock, showing us the access we now have to the Savior, and it is in him that we have our supply for every need. Let us therefore, trust in him and rely upon him in time of need. (And even when we think we don’t.) Amen.
