Today's verse is John 17:5
And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
From today’s readings there are many things that I could have focused upon, many things that need to be said! But, let us start with the foundation. Who is Jesus Christ? Many say that he was a Great teacher. Except for the verb “was” this is true. Some would say that he “was” a Great man, also true. But, in saying these things they imply that he was not, nor now is, God. However, we have already seen how he has claimed be equal with God, thus God, and he does so again here. In this context, he was not a Conman, for he believed his claim, so is he God, or a lunatic, thus not a Great teacher, nor a Great man. If he is a Great teacher, and a Great man, He must also be God the Son, just as he had said. “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” Amen.
To God be the Glory
Scott
