Today's verse is Nehemiah 4:14
And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.
Today, many cry that God is a God of love, and that we need not fear him, yet take another look at the verse above, and what is the promise we have because our God is Great and Terrible? Is it not that we need not to fear those that oppose him? Is it not that we can have courage, because if we stand with him and for him, he will take up our cause, and we shall prevail? Did not Paul warn that we will have to give an account of all that we have done, whether good or bad? For this reason, did he not say, Knowing the terror of the Lord, we persuade men? Therefore, let us fear Him that loves us, for we Know that if he loves us he will chasten us when we stray, but against them that Hate him, and reject him, unless they repent he will destroy; therefore, Proclaim his Greatness! Proclaim how Terrible he is! Proclaim his Mercy and Grace, and charge them that hear to Repent! For the day of Judgment is nearer Today, then it was yesterday. Amen.
