For God's Love, Do You Hate Evil?

Today's verse is Psalm 97:10
     Ye that love the LORD, hate evil:
      He preserveth the souls of his saints;
      He delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

    When Ezra arrived in Jerusalem, he found that the children of Israel had transgressed, having failed to separate themselves from those that dwelled in the land, doing the same abominations of those that dwelt there, and like Solomon, taken wives of these same peoples corrupting themselves with their abominable doctrines, further sinning against God. Ezra was innocent of all this, yet when he prayed, this is how he started: “And said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up unto the heavens.” Who of God’s Redeemed can say as Ezra could have but did not, that he is innocent of the abominations that are being committed today? Who will, with me, pray as Ezra did, seeking God’s face, not only for forgiveness, but for an answer on how we ought to forestall judgment upon this wicked world we currently reside? Perhaps, as we Love the Lord our God, hating the Evil we see about us, God will not only preserve us, but will allow us to be a testimony to those wicked about us, and by Jesus who died for them as well as us, will lift them out of the mire they currently wallow in. Amen.
