Having Known, But Still Not Having Heard

Today's verse is Daniel 5:22
And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;

    Belshazzar, knowing the things that had happened to his Grandfather, how God had shown himself mighty in his life, refused to humble himself before the God of Heaven and Earth, but instead, perverted the ways of God, and gave glory to himself and things that have no power of themselves, giving no thought to the commands and warnings that the Great God had given him. Therefore, the God of True Judgment gave warning, and Belshazzar died that night. Jesus told of the rich man that had gone to Hell, and told us how Abraham told him that if his brothers refused to hear what God has told us by Moses and the Prophets, then they would not listen to One that had risen from the dead. And now we also have the Testimony of the Apostles. Have you heard them? Have you allowed them to change you, to cause you to fear the God of Heaven? Do not be as Belshazzar, having Known God, or having known of God (And you do!) and that knowledge having no positive affect upon you. Amen.

To God be the Glory
Scott
