Daniel's Final Instruction

Today's verse is Daniel 12:13
But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.

This instruction was given to Daniel, notice the “thy”s and “thou.” Daniel was to go his way, i.e. to live out the rest of his life, and rest. Is he not now in the grave, resting with those Saints that believed God, before Jesus came? Then after what we can now understand as the first resurrection he will stand in the place God has prepared for him. But we also can take instruction and hope from this verse. For we also have a way that we are to go, we also have a Rest that we are to claim! And all have a lot appointed to them when they are resurrected! Have we not been commanded to Watch and be ready, to be found as faithful stewards when he comes? Are we not to cease from our own works (which produce nothing but wood, hay or stubble,) and allow God’s Spirit the Holy Ghost to work through us? Giving us something to present to our Lord and Savior! And finally, as Daniel has his lot, so do we! If we have Trusted Jesus Christ and his finished Work, we will be found standing with him rejoicing evermore, but if not, that lot will be nought but torment unending forever more. Selah [Which is yours.] Amen.

To God be the Glory
Scott
