Today's verse is Psalm 37:8-9
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath:
Fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
For evildoers shall be cut off:
But those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
Today, in this world that we live in, in which evil appears to abound, and as this very Psalm confirms, seeks to destroy the Righteous, It is easy to get angry, and to allow wrath to have its false place. Yet we that fear God, need to continue to Fear God, and consider the promises and admonitions of this Psalm. For even as the wicked plots against the Righteous, God shall laugh, knowing that their time is coming. But for us that know God, let us put this into practice: “The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom. And his tongue talketh of judgment. The law of his God is in his heart; None of his steps shall side.” That is, Meditate upon God’s Word, and allow what you meditate upon to proceed out of your mouth, and hopefully some of those that are currently counted as Wicked by the Righteous Judge, Seeing your conversation, will Repent and be found in Him who Redeems. Amen.
To God be the Glory
Scott
