Today's verse is Psalm 35:17
Lord, how long wilt thou look on?
Rescue my soul from their destructions,
My darling from the lions.
Are you looking upon all the things that distress you, wondering when the Lord will step in and deliver? In this prayer of David, we having God’s Word, know that God did deliver David, not once nor twice, but often. But, not just David, has not God also delivered Abraham, Issac, and Jacob? What of Noah, and the children of Israel? Then there is Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel, not to mention Esther and her uncle Mordecai, and the Jews of their day. Now, as we examine all of these, we see that God worked, neither was he slack, but as Peter tells us: “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” So, be patient, and let the Good Works of God be made known to all that will hear, with the hope that some of them may repent before God brings swift destruction. (The people of Noah’s day, Saul, Haman, those that set up Daniel for a fall, and others too numerous to mention.) Amen.
To God be the Glory
Scott
