Are You Content For The Right Reason?

 

Today's verse is 1 Timothy 6:6

But godliness with contentment is great gain. 

    To what purpose do you labour? Some may, not understanding all that is implied by godliness, claim that this verse is an excuse for laziness, but no, remember, mankind was created to “till the ground” that is to work. However, our work is not, necessarily, for personal or temporal gain, have we not been told, where your treasure is, there will your heart be also? But with food and raiment we can be content. So when you consider this verse, when you labor, when you work, what treasure are you building, and where are you storing it? Selah [Know what satisfies you.] Amen.
