Do You Work?

Today's verse is Leviticus 19:10
And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the LORD your God.

What is it to give alms, or as we call it today, Charity? Notice in the verse above, which is the foundational verse for biblical charity, that it requires the receiver to work! Paul later tells us, “[T]hat if any would not work, neither should he eat.Which I am sure he gleaned from the verse above. So, know that God created us to work, and, therefore, if there be anything that should hinder you from working, seek God’s face, and know that he desires you to work, and that he will help you to overcome your handicap. After all, there are very few handicaps today that have not already been overcome by others. Selah [How do you work?] Amen.
