Today's verse is 1 Chronicles 21:30
But David could not go before it to inquire of God: for he was afraid because of the sword of the angel of the LORD.
There are many types of fear that may come upon us; some reasonable, some unreasonable, some healthy, many unhealthy. To my thinking, the fear listed here appears to be reasonable, but unhealthy. David, the very one that said, “I was glad when they said unto me, ‘Let us go unto the house of the Lord.’” As listed here, was now afraid of doing that very thing. His solution? The preparation of the building of the temple, which his son Solomon, was to build. We have all sinned, and if we belong to Christ, as David does, we all suffer correction, Judge ye, was David’s reaction the right one? How should you respond if you find yourself in a similar situation? Selah [Meditate on this.] Amen.
