Mercy, Or Grace, To God's Enemies?

Today's verse is Psalm 83:16
     Fill their faces with shame;
      That they may seek thy name, O LORD.

   Here we see a contrast, which stands opposite of what Paul had said in Romans: “Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?” For the verse above is in the midst of what is known as a imprecatory psalm, a psalm that calls for judgment upon the writer’s enemies, or in this case Israel’s enemies, yet we see in this verse a hope that those that stand against God’s people, and therefore against God, might have a chance of redemption, by the very failure of their purpose. Now as Asaph prayed against the enemies of Israel, so too do I pray against the enemies of my Nation, the worst of which are not without, but within, seeking to destroy the contract they swore an oath to defend. Selah [Meditate, even better, Pray about this.] Amen.
