Joy In Service [To The Lord Our God]

 

Today's verse is 1 Chronicles 9:27

And they lodged round about the house of God, because the charge was upon them, and the opening thereof every morning pertained to them.

   Consider also, “For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand./ I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God,/ Than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.” Often, I have heard this verse misquoted, which was done by an author which attributed the misquote to a fallen angel. But, here we see those that where truly charged to be doorkeeper of the house of God, and one of them, it so impressed, that he wrote a psalm about it. (Psalm 84) Whenever, however, we find occasion to serve the Lord our God, we will find that he provides us a joy in the labour, even as these men did. Selah [Meditate on this.] Amen.
