Are We There Yet?

Today's verse is 1 Corinthians 15:23-24
But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.
Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

Many have said that we have been looking for the coming of our Savior for over 2 thousand years; He is not coming! Paul told the Thessalonians, both to look to Christ’s coming, for then he will visit retribution to them that trouble them: then told them not to be troubled because others say the time is now, giving certain conditions that must be met, including all those that have the Holy Spirit being removed, that the wicked one may have free reign. Are we there yet? I don’t know, much of what must be is present, with more promised to follow apparently at the door step, but there are also reasons to believe the time is not yet. Either way, we that belong to Christ, know that he truly is in control, and we can trust him as we continue to follow him. Amen.

To God be the Glory
