The End From The Beginning

Today's verse is 1 Kings 13:2
And he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men’s bones shall be burnt upon thee.

At the time Josiah was born, there is no evidence that his mother or father was thinking of this prophecy as he received his name. Josiah was the last king that God considered righteous, yet the last righteous King before him was his great grandfather, whom he never knew, but followed in his footsteps, and much has transpired from this pronouncement to its fulfillment. Yet, what God said here still came to pass, and we can take comfort in the fact that God knows the end from the very beginning. What is happening now, has not surprised God, nor will it keep him from doing as he has purposed. So what is his purpose in you? And by your choice, will you reap reward? or by your choice, will you reap sorrow as God accomplishes his purpose in you? Selah [Consider this Carefully.] Amen.

To God be the Glory
Scott

Tomorrow's Reading will be 1 Kings 15, 2 Chronicles 13-14, Titus 3
